John Moody

November 18, 1938 — August 13, 2019

John Roger Moody (80) of Pecos passed away on August 13, 2019, in Fort Stockton, Texas.

Visitation will be from noon until 8 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2019, at Pecos Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 16, 2019, at Balmorhea Cemetery with Deacon Paul Lister of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church presiding.

John Roger was born to Jack and Cora (Draper) Moody on November 18, 1938, in Pecos, Texas.

John Roger served in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman assigned to the Strategic Air Command.  His duties involved security for some of the most Top Secret aircraft during that time period.  His service allowed him to meet several VIPS in both military and civilian walks of life.  After the Air Force, John Roger worked for W.R. Grace followed by a 40-year stint as a contract oil field pumper.

John Roger was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter, Regina Perryman.

Survivors include his cherished wife Anita; son, Dan Moody; daughter, Patricia Moody Harveson; and two stepsons, Robert and Randy Tucker.  Surviving siblings include Reita Prewitt Bates, Jackson and Kinley Moody.  He was blessed to have numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
