Wanda Martin

September 25, 1944 — February 4, 2022

Greenville, Alabama

Wanda Jane (Chance) Martin, 77, of Pecos, Texas entered in to Jehovah’s memory on February 4, 2022, in San Angelo, TX. Wanda was born September 25, 1944, in Greenville, Alabama to Henry and Corrie (Boutwell) Chance. She grew up in Jal, New Mexico and graduated from Jal High School in 1962.

Wanda worked various jobs in her lifetime and raised three children along the way. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was also a dedicated Jehovah’s Witness. In her spare time, she loved taking care of her turtles, doing arts and crafts, traveling, spending time with friends.

Mom always took pride in the way she looked and had her hair done whether she was going out or staying in. She loved having her family around her and loved hosting holiday events in her home. When the star’s aligned, we all loved it when we got Mom, Stacy, Ben and Ralph around the table telling stories. We would laugh for hours until our sides hurt. She had a quick wit with an infectious laugh. Widowed twice, she always put her family first and taught those around her how to persevere with grace. She will be greatly missed.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Stacy Bratcher and Terry Martin and two brothers, Joe and Ralph Chance. She is survived by her children, Darren Hester and his wife Nichole, of Lakeville, MN; Janice Hester, of Pecos, and Scott Bratcher and his wife Mindy, of San Angelo; four grandchildren, Adrienne Hester and Corrie Hester and Stacie Bratcher and Mackenzie Bratcher; and one brother, Ben Chance of Jal, NM.

A memorial for Wanda will be held on Saturday, March 12 at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. The chapel will open at 12:00pm with the Memorial beginning at 1:00pm.

A private family burial will follow the services.
