Sarita "Sarah" Vasquez

Sarita Vasquez; beloved mother, grandmother, sister, & friend to many was called to her heavenly home on February 17, 2022 at the age of 60. She was born on May 26, 1961 in Pecos, Texas.

Sarah had a heart of gold who lived life to the fullest, always laughing and making jokes, usually never taking life too seriously. She enjoyed simple pleasures like chatting on the phone with friends and family, spending time with her grandkids, and cooking. Sarah had many jobs throughout her lifetime but the one that was most valuable to her that she cherished with all her heart, was being a mom. She was the BEST at it too, always doing anything and everything for her 4 children no matter how big they got or how far away they were. Being a MOM was her pride and joy.

Sarita is survived by her children, Adan & Vanessa Matta of Monahans, Joel & Anaiza Matta of Cibolo, Carmen & Ahmad Prosser of Shreveport, and Israel & Tiffany Matta of Lubbock, 6 brothers & sisters, and 12 grandchildren.

The family welcomes friends from 2:00 - 9:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2022 at the Pecos Funeral Home, 607 W. 3rd St, with Rosary services at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 at Word of Hope Christian Church, 505 E. 3rd St, with Brother Serrano officiating. The burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
