Maura Sanchez

Maura Perez Sanchez, 87, of Balmorhea, Texas, passed away on February 6th, 2022 in Odessa Texas.

Maura was born Pilares, Chihuahua, Mexico to Hijinio and Carmen Perez on January 15, 1935.

Maura had two brothers Juan and Adam and six sisters Marcela, Adela, Petra, Dulces, Elodia, and Eva.

From a young age Maura worked in the field with her brothers and sisters until her marriage to Mike where she became a home maker and worked at the Bear Den restaurant. Maura was a self-taught seamstress always making dresses for her girls and helping others. In their younger years, Maura and Mike loved dancing... never missing a chance to dance. Also, a crafted cook, no one ever went hungry from Maura’s house.

Maura is preceded in death by her husband Mike Mora Sanchez, and by her sons Omero and Orlando Sanchez

Maura is survived by her daughters Rosalinda and Anita and many grand and great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gator Pyzdrowski, Alexa Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez, John Guebara, Jeffery Guebara, and Joshua Guebara.

Visitation, including Rosary will be 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Monday February 14th, 2022 at Pecos Funeral Home Pecos Texas. Rosary at 7:30 pm.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 am February 15th, 2022 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Balmorhea, Texas. Burial will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

Maura was very humble, hardworking, caring, a hilarious character at times; Maura would go to asleep at night praying the holy rosery! Rest in peace, go with God!

Maura Pérez Sánchez, de 87 años, de Balmorhea, Texas, falleció el 6 de febrero de 2022 en Odessa Texas.

Maura nació en Pilares, Chihuahua, México, hija de Hijinio y Carmen Pérez el 15 de enero de 1935.

Maura tuvo dos hermanos Juan y Adán y seis hermanas Marcela, Adela, Petra, Dulces, Elodia y Eva.

Desde muy joven Maura trabajó en el campo con sus hermanos y hermanas hasta su matrimonio con Mike donde se convirtió en ama de casa y trabajó en el restaurante Bear Den. Maura era una costurera autodidacta que siempre hacía vestidos para sus hijas y ayudaba a los demás. En sus años de juventud, a Maura y a Mike les encantaba bailar... nunca perdían la oportunidad de hacerlo. También, una cocinera artesanal, nadie nunca se fue con hambre de la casa de Maura.

Maura es precedida en la muerte por su esposo Mike Mora Sanchez, y por sus hijos Omero y Orlando Sanchez

A Maura le sobreviven sus hijas Rosalinda y Anita y muchos nietos y bisnietos.

Los portadores del féretro serán Gator Pyzdrowski, Alexa Sanchez, Jacob Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, Matthew Sanchez, John Guebara, Jeffery Guebara y Joshua Guebara.

Las visitas, incluyendo el Rosario serán de 6:00 pm a 9:00 pm el lunes 14 de febrero de 2022 en Pecos Funeral Home Pecos Texas. Rosario a las 7:30 pm.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo 10:00 am 15 de febrero 2022 en la Iglesia Católica Cristo Rey, Balmorhea, Texas. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio de Balmorhea. Los arreglos son por Pecos Funeral Home.

¡Maura era muy humilde, trabajadora, cariñosa, un personaje divertidísimo a veces; Maura se dormía por la noche rezando el santo rosario! ¡Descanse en paz, vaya con Dios!
