Obituary

Our beloved Lourdes “Eloisa” Machuca, 72, of Pecos, Texas died peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Eloisa was born to Jesus and Lucinda Marruffo on June 21, 1950. She was third oldest of 9 siblings. She was a Catholic Christian, lived most of her life in Pecos, she was a homemaker, a loving and supportive wife to Martin C. Machuca for 57 years. Together they raised two sons.

Eloisa lived her life in faith; she was a prayerful God-fearing woman and had a devotion to our Lady of Guadalupe. Eloisa touched and mentored many lives, even though she was stern, many loved the tough love she gave and always had a positive message. She spoke her mind in good faith. Most of the time if she was not praying you would find her watching the Sy-Fi Channel or in her favorite spot “the kitchen.” Eloisa was an amazing cook, she loved cooking and preparing meals for her family. She made sure we were all well fed. She will be greatly missed but treasured forever.

Eloisa is preceded in death by her parents Jesus and Lucinda Marruffo, three sisters Yolanda Abila, Lourdes Machuca, Criselda Fry, two brothers Arturo “Turi” Marruffo, Salvador “Chava” Marruffo and a grandson Nathaniel A. Machuca.

She is survived by her husband Martin C. Machuca Sr., two sons Martin Machuca Jr. and Helen of Andrews, Texas and Deacon Oscar M. Machuca and Beatriz of Pecos, Texas. One sister Guadalupe “Lupita” Marruffo, and three brothers Daniel Marruffo, Israel Marruffo, and Noel Marruffo all of Pecos, Texas. She has 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers Oscar Machuca, Jayden Machuca, and Knights of Columbus Council 7720.

With deep appreciation and gratitude we want to thank TransPecos Nursing & Rehab Staff, Dr. Serrano, American Home Health, West Texas Catholic Communities and the community at large for the support that has been given. God bless you all.
