Glenda Mcneil

June 20, 1934 — August 16, 2020

Pecos

We ask you to celebrate with us that Glenda McNeil 86, has gone to be with the Lord on August 16, 2020.

She was born on June 20, 1934, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Joe and Bertha McAnally. Her family then moved from East Texas to Barstow because of her asthma when she was eleven. Glenda loved Barstow and excelled at sports while she was in school there. She was excellent at basketball, volleyball, and tennis, which she continued to love watching for many years.
In August of 1951, she met the love of her life, W.C. “Dub” McNeil. They married shortly after in November of 1951, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Glenda and Dub lived in Pecos, Texas, and had two children, Billy and Jeanne. In 1960, they moved to Balmorhea, where they raised their children. Glenda was an incredible wife and mother. Through her strong faith in God and diligence in prayer, she introduced her husband and her two children to Jesus, with that legacy continuing to live on today. Her love for Dub was evident in everything she did as she later followed him in moves to Liberty, El Paso, and back to Pecos for his trucking company.

Her family would describe her as hospitable, opening up her home to her family and friends. She was devoted to her family and was always there for those that needed her.
Glenda was preceded in death by her husband, W.C. “Dub” McNeil, her parents, Joe and Bertha McAnally, and her brothers, Charlie, Alton and Jimmy McAnally. She is survived by her son Billy and his wife Kay of El Paso, her daughter Jeanne and her husband E.C. of Pecos, seven grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren.

The family would like to give special thanks to Monahans Focused Care for going above and beyond and Kay Magee, a true and faithful friend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Mission Dignity at missiondignity.org.
