Valentin F Rodriguez 93 of Pecos passed away Wednesday June 3, 2020 at his residence. He was born December 16, 1926 to Manuel and Asvelia Franco Rodriguez in Van Horn, Tx. He was a Christian Catholic and retired after 20 years of service as a foreman for the Cotton Gin. He married Reina Aguilar in Sierra Blanca and were married for over 55 years until her passing January 8, 1997.
Valentin was an Army veteran during the World War II era. He loved playing dominoes and was very good at winning, loved tinkering with all types of gas and other types of machines, his favorite color was blue, He loved his grandchildren those far and near. Dad you will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Reina A. Rodriguez, son Javier Rodriguez, sisters Flora Morales, Sofia Ortiz, Francisca Rodriguez, Juana Rodriguez, Lorenza Guzman, Eleser Rodriguez, and Lupe Morales brothers Manuel, Chano, and Reymundo Rodriguez
He is survived by his daughters Adelina Carrasco and husband Bobby of Phoenix, Az, and Grace Rodriguez of Pecos, Tx, sons Adam Rodriguez and wife Diana of Pecos, Tx, and Arturo Rodriguez and wife Irma of St Paul Minn., sister Emilia R Aguilar of Fresno, Ca
Valentin also leaves to cherish his memory of 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 visitation is set for 50 persons only Friday June 5, 2020 from 9am-4pm and with same guidelines applying Monday June 8, 2020 from 9am-4pm with Lorenzo Ramirez officiating a prayer service at 2pm at Pecos Funeral Home chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Tuesday June 9, 2020 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church with Father Jose Dela Cruz officiating. The same COVID-19 guidelines apply at the church including anyone attending must wear face mask,
Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen cemetery.
