Antonio M. "Tony" Trujillo, a cherished member of the Pecos community, passed away on August 1, 2025, in Pecos, Texas.
Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel, with a Rosary service at 7 PM.
Funeral Mass for Tony will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, followed by burial at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.
Antonio was born on April 10, 1960, in Pecos, Texas to Antonio and Maria Elena Trujillo. He attended school in Pecos and proudly graduated from Pecos High School in 1978. He married his high school sweetheart Tina in 1979 in Pecos and were married for 46 years. His passion for surveying began in 1985 where he gained employment with Frank Spencer and Associates. He went on and earned his RPLS in 1999. Tony Trujillo Land Surveying Inc. was opened in 2002.
Tony was a dedicated public servant and was elected proudly to serve as Reeves County Commissioner of Precinct 4 in 2011.
His passion for the progressive development of Reeves County was a constant driving force in his life that remained of the upmost importance even in his final days. Antonio was a friend and mentor to many and would offer guidance or a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
He is preceded in death by his parents Antonio and Maria Elena Trujillo and his sister Norma Lewis.
Antonio is survived by Tina Trujillo his spouse of 46 years. His children Valerie Trujillo, Tony Trujillo and his wife Heather. Jessica Ortega and husband Luis all of Pecos. One brother, Martin Trujillo and wife Sandra of Odessa. 4 sisters, Susie Villescas, and husband Freddy of El Paso. Flor Herrera and husband Bobby and Marta Trujillo of Pecos. Ana Apolinar and husband Steve of Barstow, Texas. His beloved grandchildren Christian Trujillo and wife Brittany. Kaitlyn Lara, Sienna and Salem Trujillo, and Diego, Mateo, and Alejandro Ortega who all affectionately called him "Popo". 5 great grandchildren-Elias, Ethan, Adan, Scarlett, and Sade Trujillo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Licon, Robert Herrera, Frederick and Nicolas Villescas, Lucas Cordova, Stephen Ben Apolinar, Julian Adame , Dominick Prieto and Javier Contreras.
Honorary pallbearers are his dedicated office and field crew Jesse Chacon, Angel Torres, Manuel Carrasco, and his lifelong friend Ivan Levario.
The family would like to express love and appreciation for the entire administration and staff at Avir Pecos. Your care and compassion will be cherished and remembered forever. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Providence East Campus in El Paso and Reeves Regional Health in Pecos, Texas.
