Socorro Tarango Zubiate, 95, of Coyame, Chihuahua, passed away on September 6, 2026, in Pecos, Texas.

Socorro was born in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Albino Tarango and Maria Barrera on June 20, 1931. She attended school in Coyame and married Dario Zubiate on July 20, 1956, in Cuchillo Parado, Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dario Zubiate; her parents, Albino Tarango and Maria Barrera; her son, Jose Zubiate; her brothers Bernabe, Emilio, and Priciliano Tarango; and her sisters Agustina, Simona Tarango, and Cele Madrid.

Socorro is survived by her daughters, Alma Rosa Zubiate Tarango, Flor Maria Zubiate (Albert), Socorro Navarrete (Teno), Paty Zubiate (Rolando); her sons, Ernesto Zubiate (Lupita), Ruben Zubiate (Katy), Oscar Herbey Zubiate (Virgen), Cesar Zubiate (Hita); 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ernesto Zubiate, Ruben Zubiate, Oscar Herbey Zubiate, Cesar Zubiate, Alan Navarette, and Jose Luis Antillon.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 from 10:30am - 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home. 

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas 

Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
