Santiago Muniz Garcia, 86, of Pecos, passed away on January 1, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, from 9:00am to 9:00 pm, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 7, at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Santiago was born in Pecos, Texas, to Teofilo and Jesus Garcia on June 9, 1939. He married Consuelo Galindo on June 12, 1971. He worked at BF Goodrich Proving Ground, followed by Pennzoil and Reeves Country Detention Center. He served in the 509th Quarter Master Company in United States Army and earned a Marksman Rifle M-14 badge.
Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Teofilo and Jesus Garcia, brother Felix Garcia, and sisters Gregoria Pallanes, Juliana Garcia, and Lydia Contreras.
Santiago is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Consuelo Galindo Garcia, his children Gustavo (and Stephanie) Garcia, Marissa (and Michael) Medina, and Sarai (and John) Cole, Sr.; and his grandchildren: Gabriela Garcia, Catherine Cole, John Cole, Jr., and Mickayla Medina, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Cole, Sr., John Cole, Jr., Miguel (Mike) Garcia, Michael Medina, Isaiah Ramirez, and Randall Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers are Gabriela Garcia, Catherine Cole, and Mickayla Medina.
