Obituary

Roy Lynn Foster died peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Pecos, Texas surround by his family.

A memorial service honoring Lynn's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Pecos Funeral Home in Pecos, Texas, with Kevin Zimdars officiating. Services are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.

Lynn Foster was born on September 4, 1957, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Billy Jason and Billie June Foster. The second of three sons of a Baptist preacher, Lynn spent his childhood in communities throughout Texas and New Mexico, where his faith, kindness, and steady character began to shape the man he would become. He graduated from Cobre High School in 1975 and later attended Wayland Baptist College. In 1981, Lynn returned to Pecos, Texas, a place that would become home in the deepest sense when he met Judy Davis. They married on July 14, 1984, beginning a life together rooted in love, devotion, family, and countless treasured memories.

Throughout his life, Lynn was known for his strong work ethic, dependable nature, and heart for service. He worked for Brownlee Hardware, Southern Union Gas and Texas Gas for 20 years, and later in the oilfield and for the Town of Pecos City before retiring in May 2025. A faithful member of North Temple Baptist Church, Lynn also devoted 23 years to the Pecos Volunteer Fire Department, serving in several roles, including two years as Fire Chief. His commitment to fire service and community safety continued when he was appointed in March 2024 as an ESD #1 commissioner, a role he served faithfully until his passing. Lynn was also a proud member of the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse for more than 35 years, where he built lasting friendships and treasured memories. One of his favorite responsibilities was helping select the Reeves County Sheriff's Posse scholarship recipients.

Lynn found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of lifetime spent on the golf course, conversations with friends, and cheering on the Pecos Eagles while his children were in school. He rarely missed a football game, volleyball game, golf tournament, or basketball game, always showing up with pride and love. More than anything, Lynn's heart belonged to

his family. He was a devoted husband, father, friend, and grandfather, and being a grandfather was one of the greatest blessings and joys of his life.

Lynn was welcomed into eternal rest by his parents; his brother, Mike Foster; and numerous aunts and uncles who preceded him in death. Their reunion brings comfort to those who loved him.

Lynn leaves behind his beloved wife of 42 years, Judy, who shared his life and love; his four children, Stephanie Marie Babcock (Robert) of Wasilla, Alaska, Cassandra "Cassie" Foster of Pecos, Roy Lynn Foster Jr. "Bubba" of Pecos, and Eldon Tyler Davis (Amanda) of Lubbock; his two treasured grandsons, Erik Keith Babcock and Seth William Babcock, both of Wasilla, Alaska; his brother, Randy Foster (Rhonda) of Graham; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory, stories, and love in their hearts. He also held a special place in his heart for Peggy Cox, Kelly Cox and Clayton Cox (wife Heather) the family of his very good friend, Doug Cox who passed away May 16, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in Lynn's memory.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Serrano and the entire Reeves Regional family for the kindness, care, and support shown to Lynn and his loved ones.
