Rodney “Roc” Carrasco, 50, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Rodney was born in Pecos, Texas, to Catarino and Belia Carrasco on January 27, 1976. He was preceded in death by his father, Catarino Carrasco.

He is survived by his mother, Belia Carrasco; his brothers, Hector Carrasco (Miriam) and Robert Carrasco (Jessica); and his sister, Jessica Acosta (Jason).

Rodney is also survived by his four children: Rodney Jr. Carrasco (Jessica), Ismael Carrasco (Amberly), Antheny Carrasco, and Jeffrey Carrasco.

Roc was a fighter from the beginning. He fought through every storm life placed before him, and he never stopped fighting. Even in his final moments, he fought to hold on with strength, determination, and dignity.

But beyond that strength was a man who carried a rare kind of spirit.

Roc loved people. He loved conversation, movement, music, stories, laughter, and learning. He was curious about the world and drawn to life in all its forms. There was always another road to take, another place to see, another stranger to talk to, another story waiting somewhere beyond the horizon.

He could sit beside someone he had just met and speak to them like an old friend. That was his gift. He carried no fear in approaching people. He welcomed connection naturally, and people felt seen around him.

His curiosity spurned his travels far and wide around the world, collecting moments the way some people collect possessions. The stories he brought home were never just about places, they were about people. A conversation at a gas station. A long night somewhere unfamiliar. A lesson picked up along the way. He moved through life following instinct, heart, and freedom, wherever the wind carried him next.

To those who knew him closely, loyalty was one of his truest qualities. If you were part of Roc’s circle, he stood beside you completely. Solid. Unshaken. The kind of loyalty that cannot be taught and will not be forgotten. Many who knew him will say the same.

Roc lived fully. He embraced life with all its beauty, hardship, unpredictability, and wonder. He leaves behind memories, laughter, stories, and a presence that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Rodneys love for his family was like no other, he loved his kids, nephews, grandkids unconditionally. He was everyone’s greatest supporter, especially watching his niece Jayana (J-Rocket) play softball.

The viewing will be held on Monday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Roc’s Life will also take place Monday 6/1/26 evening from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Pecos Funeral home.
