Ramon C. Garcia

Ramon Carrasco Garcia, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Odessa, Texas.

Ramon was born on November 14, 1937, to Jesus Garcia and Sixta Carrasco in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. On October 1, 1960, he married, Elfida Rodriguez, in Marfa, Texas.

A longtime resident of Pecos, Ramon spent most of his life doing what he loved—being a cowboy. He had a true heart for horses and ranching, and his days were filled with hard work, dedication, and deep appreciation for the land and animals he cared for.

Above all, Ramon was a devoted family man. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren deeply, whether he was known to them as Papá, Grandpa, or Ito. He touched the lives of those around him in unforgettable ways, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories that will live on forever in our hearts.

Ramon is preceded in death by his son, Raul Jesus Garcia; his parents, Jesus and Sixta Garcia; brothers Jesus Garcia, Manuel Garcia, Hilario Garcia, and Jose Garcia; sisters Anastacia Mendoza, Consuelo Ortega, Maria Barragan, and Paula Salazar; and his son-in-law, Michael L. Schulze.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elfida Rodriguez Garcia of Odessa; daughters Alma Garcia of Odessa and Lisa Schulze of San Angelo; sons George Garcia of San Antonio, Omar Garcia, Rene Garcia, and Danny Garcia of Odessa; 25 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Esperanza Garcia Tarango of Grand Prairie.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Lopez, Marco Garcia, Raul Hernandez Jr., and Jessie Garcia, Adriel Montano. Honorary pallbearer will be Kash Hernandez.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to caregiver Cristina Carrasco for the compassionate care she provided to our beloved father.

Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pecos Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Burial will immediately follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
