Octavio Martinez

Octavio Acosta Martinez, 71 of Pecos passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Odessa, Texas.
Visitation for Mr. Martinez will be Thursday October 15, 2015 beginning at 9:00 AM. Rosary is scheduled for Thursday October 15, 2015 from 7:30 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church, with Father Jose de la Cruz Longoria officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.

Octavio was born in Terlingua, TX to Antonia Acosta and Celso Martinez on February 29, 1944. Octavio went to school in Pecos. He married Mercy Salas on February 19, 1966 in Pecos.

Octavio is preceded in death by his parents Celso and Antonia Martinez, brother Onexicmo Martinez, granddaughter Chrysta Stone, great granddaughter Jahzel Pinon and great grandson Matthew Pinon.

Octavio is survived by his wife of 49 years Mercy Salas Martinez, son Patrick Martinez, and daughter Melissa Martinez. Octavio is also survived by his three sisters, Francis Velasco of Odessa, TX, Edunigen Zamora of San Antonio, TX., and Esperanza Glacken of Rochester Washington; grandsons Casey R. Stone, of Spring TX, Robert Martinez of Hobbs NM, Joseph Martinez of Pecos TX,; granddaughter Stephanie Pinon of Hobbs, NM, Great grandchildren Arianna Martinez, Israel E. Pinon, Emma Pinon, Kristen Pinon, and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Eric Mendoza, Lupe Rede, Orlando Orona, Timothy Orona, Robert Martinez, and Casey Stone.
