Melchor Maynez, aged 82, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on June 12, 2026, in Pecos, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, June 22, 2026. A Rosary will take place from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM on the same day at Pecos Funeral Home. Mass services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church, with burial following at Santa Rosa Cemetery. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.

Melchor was born on January 6, 1944, in Eutimias, Coahuila, to Francisco Maynez and Hermila Mongarro and was raised in Ojinaga, Chihuahua. He married Guadalupe Gonzalez in Múzquiz, Coahuila. A hardworking and dedicated individual, Melchor was a beloved father who enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Guadalupe; his parents, Francisco and Hermila; and his siblings, Manuel, Maria Elena, Martha, and Mario Maynez.

Melchor is survived by his sons, Juan (Susana), Jesus (Alicia), Ramon (Aby), and Lupe (Ivonne), as well as his daughters, Maria (Pedro) and Cecilia (Eduardo). He also leaves behind grandchildren Jesus Antonio, Janet (Isaac), Monse, Angel, Reyna, Emperatriz, Lupe Jr., and Mia, along with his great-grandchildren, including Anthony. Others who were part of his life include Rosa, Maria Luisa, Laura, Sebastian, Yovanca, Genesis, and Pavel.

Pallbearers will be Ramon, Jesus, Lupe Jr., Angel, Jesus Antonio, Sebastian, Isaac, and Pavel.
