Mary Skelton

Mary Avila Skelton 69 passed away at her residence, on January 31 2017, after a long courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 2, 2017 from 9:00 Am to 9:00 Pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary will be held on Thursday February 2, 2017 at 7:30 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be held on Friday February 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow, TX with Ft. De La Cruz Officiating. Interment will follow at Barstow Cemetery.
Mary was born on December 5, 1947 on a farm north of Barstow to Manuel Avila and Ofelia Monclova Avila.
She is preceded in death by an infant son her parents Manuel and Ofelia Avila, one older sister and a younger brother.
Mary is survived by her husband of 48 years Gary "Buzz" Skelton of Barstow, one son Carey Skelton of El Paso, one daughter Toni Skelton Smith of Coral Gables, Florida. Nine sisters Tina Guerrero of Odessa, Eloisa Gomez of Pecos, Becky Gonzales of Louisiana, Stella Guerra of Barstow, Elva Bahm of Victoria, Pat Boudreau of Victoria, Rosa Williams of Lubbock, Theresa Guerrero of Pecos and Leslie Sanchez of Victoria.
She was a loving wife, caring mother, inspirational sister, devoted teacher and a woman of many talents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Service are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
