Marcos Chaves Mendoza, 85 of Pecos, Texas passed away on May 24, 2014 in Pecos TX.

A rosary service for Marcos is scheduled for Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 7:30 PM at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel. A mass is scheduled for Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima with burial to follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Pecos Funeral Home.

Marcos was born in Slaton, Texas to Porfirio and Mercedes Mendoza on November 8, 1928. He went to school in Barstow Texas. Marcos married Georgia Espinosa on February 11, 1946 in Pecos Texas. He worked as a foreman for Reeves County Precinct 2, for over 20 years. He was involved in many church activities. He was a Rollista for the Cursillo movement.

Marcos is preceded in death by his parents, Porfirio Mercedes Mendoza, brothers Ignacio Chaves and Hipolito Hilo Mendoza and sisters, Alejandra Jaramillo and Celistina Chaves, a son Benjamin Mendoza and a daughter Velma Collaso.

Marcos Mendoza Sr. is survived by his wife, Georgia Mendoza, nine children Teresa Talamantes, Mary Lou Salcido, Irma Gutierrez, Alonzo Mendoza and Robert Mendoza all from Pecos, Texas Porfirio Mendoza of Azusa California, Marcos Mendoza Jr. of Fort Stockton, Texas Fidel Mendoza of San Angelo, Texas and Diana Crawford of San Antonio, Texas and 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Salcido, Eric Salcido, Grito Crawford IV, Roger Gutierrez, Adrian Collaso, Marco Mendoza, Gilbert Mendoza, and Ruben Talamantes.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cerna, Dr. Serrano, American Home Health and Staff and nurses unlimited.
