Luis Angel O. Acosta, of Pecos, Texas, at eighty-two years of age, passed away on December 20th, 2025, peacefully in his home in Pecos.
Luis was born in Grandfalls, Texas to Cruz and Maria Acosta on May 26th, 1943. He married Tomasa Martinez.
Luis graduated from Pecos High School, attended college and enlisted in the Army. He served two years and honorably discharged, at the rank of SP5, in April of 1964. He went to work for Duval (Pennzoil) for twenty-eight years. After retirement, he built up and ran his own custom carpentry business, Acosta Woodworks.
Luis is preceded in death by his beloved wife Tomasa Acosta; his daughter JoAnn A. Rodgers; grandson Joseph Cruz Trejo; great-grandson Joseph Daniel Sotelo; father Cruz Acosta; mother Maria Chavez; and sister Alicia Rodriguez.
Luis is survived by his two daughters Brenda Aguilar, spouse, Albert; and Cheryl Trejo, spouse, Tomas; Seven grandchildren Daniel Sotelo, spouse, Carolina; Luis Noel, spouse, Claressa; Isaiah Aguilar; Andrew Trejo, spouse, Jazlynn; Josiah Aguilar; Angel Cruz Trejo; and Jackelyn Trejo; including twelve great-grandchildren; His loving companion Irene Lujan; brother David Acosta and three sisters Angelina Sanchez; Valentina Whitmore; Cruzita Acosta.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Sotelo, Noel Sotelo, Isaiah Aguilar, Josiah Aguilar, Andrew Trejo and Angel Trejo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacklyn Trejo, Ezekiel Sotelo and Zachariah Sotelo.
Luis was a faithful man of God. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others. He was famously known for his talents with woodworking, cooking and baking. He was a cornerstone for so many and was deeply loved. He will be heavily missed.
