Lidia Garcia

Lidia Hignojos Garcia died peacefully with her family by her side on December 30, 2018 in Lubbock.
She was born on April 13, 1944 in Pecos, Tx to Benito and Carmen(Mendoza) Hignojos. The only girl of 8 children.
Lidia married the love of her life Manuel G Garcia on August 8, 1962.
She was a strong independent devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Lidia loved dancing with her husband, loving on her grand-kids, and watching her family gather around her dinner table. The family would love to thank the PBTISD and the Pecos Community for the love and support demonstrated during her illness. She was actively employed at PBTISD for the last 42 years. She was well loved by students, Teachers, faculty, and staff. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church of Barstow.
She is preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
Lidia is survived by her husband of 56 years Manuel G Garcia, five children; Janice and husband Jesse Arriaga of Lubbock, Steve and wife Melissa Garcia of Midland, Gary and wife Patricia Garcia of Barstow, Roger and wife Margie Garcia of Odessa, Lorri and husband Earnest Moreno of Lubbock. Two brothers Luis and wife Julie Hignojos of Lubbock, Ismael and wife Betty Hignojos of Pecos. Eighteen grandchildren, and twenty -eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday December 31, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel, and on Tuesday Jan.1, 2019 from 9:00 Am to 5:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel
Rosary will be held on Jan. 1, 2019 at 7:30 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow, Texas
Mass will be held on Wednesday Jan 2, 2019 at Noon at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Officiating. Burial will follow at Barstow Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Catholic Diocese of El Paso and the American Cancer Society.
