Juana Hinojos Martinez, aged 95, peacefully departed this life to enter Eternal Rest on October 19, 2025, in Pecos, Texas.
Born in Barstow, Texas, to the beloved couple Secundino and Petra Garcia Hinojos, Juana was a cornerstone of her family and community. On June 18, 1950, she united in marriage with Macario G. Martinez, beginning a beautiful journey that would bless them with a loving family.
Juana is lovingly remembered by her children: George "Yolanda" Martinez, Adan "Eva" Martinez, Macario Jr. Martinez, Oscar Martinez, Alfredo "Araceli" Martinez, Daniel Martinez, Ricardo Martinez, Jaime "Priscilla" Martinez, as well as her daughters Rosa "Israel" Gonzales, Eva Navarrette, Stella "Frank" Reyes, and Virginia "Ted" Blanchard. She adored her 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength that will continue to shine through each one of them. She is also survived by a cherished circle of nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
Though Juana was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter Silvia M. Lujan, sons Ector and Jesus Martinez, grandchildren Eric Navarrete and Rudy M. Reyes, sisters Pabla Pena and Celia Campos, brothers Francisco and David Hinojos, and sister-in-law Inez Hinojos, her spirit lives on in the countless hearts she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
Join us in honoring Juana's memory during visitation on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her honor on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas, followed by her final resting place alongside her beloved husband, Macario Martinez Sr., at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.
The family of Juana Martinez wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Arjela and Monica from Pecos County Hospice, as well as her devoted caregivers Manuela Lopez, Myra Rodriguez, and Anna Campos. Your compassion and love have meant the world to us during this time.
