Juan Ramos Salcido passed away on Oct 29, 2016 at his residence in Pecos Tx.
Visitation will be held on Monday Oct. 31 from 9 am to 9 pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary will be held on Monday Oct. 31 at 7:30 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass will be held on Tuesday Nov. 1, 2016 at 10 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church with Ft. De La Cruz Officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.
Juan was born in Balmorhea, Texas to Canuto Salcido and Josepha Salcido on October 6, 1932. He went to school at Balmorhea until he entered the Military. Juan is an Army Veteran of the Korean War as an U.S. Army Ranger Sargent in the 82nd Airborne Division. After severing in the Army, he served in the Army Reserve for seven years. During this time Juan married Adela Arreguy on June 26, 1955.
He had many jobs throughout his life. Last of all he retired from the Reeves County Detention Center where he worked as a Horticulture instructor for Odessa College.
Juan was involved in Cursillista, Holy Name Society, Santa Rosa Mens Choir, Catholic War Veterans, Optomist Club, And The Lion's Club.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Canuto and Josepha Salcido, by three Grandchildren, Luis Sebastian Aguirre, Kiara Alize Archuleta, and Levi Mason Terrazas, by four brothers Canuto Jr., Guadalupe, Benito Salcido, and Johnny Opelas, and two sisters Maria, Salcido and Margarita Rodriguez.
Juan is survived by his wife Adela, his Daughters Becky Millan and Husband Julian, Lillian and Husband Oscar Archuleta Sr., Terry Terrazas and boyfriend Jaime Villagran, Barbara and husband David Castillo, Sons John and wife Rosie Salcido, Dan Salcido, Martin and wife Marissa Arreguy. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, seven granddaughters/son-in-laws, 24 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson one Brother Manuel Salcido, and two sisters Louisa Dutchover and Connie Orona.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Julian Millan Jr., Oscar Archuleta Jr., Kristopher Terrazas, John Paul Salcido, J.R. Orona, And Simon Castillo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Grandsons Jonathan Justin and John Charles Millan, Daniel Juan Jesus Terraza, and Sean Castillo; Son in law Julian Millan Sr., Oscar Archuleta Sr., David Castillo, and Jaime Villagran.
