Jose Luis Rodriguez

Joseluis Galindo Rodriguez passed away peacefully on August 26, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on June 12, 1949, in Ft. Stockton, Texas, to Elias and Juanita Rodriguez.

Joseluis grew up in Ft. Stockton and lived there until his mid-20s. At just 15 years old, he met the love of his life, Estella Rayos. After years of dating one another, they were married on October 12, 1974, and shared 50 beautiful years together while residing in Pecos, Texas. Their marriage was filled with love, faith, and family. Together, they raised four children, doted on seven grandchildren, and even cared for a few beloved pets along the way.

Joseluis was a hardworking man who made it a priority to provide for his family. He worked at Pennzoil/Freeport for 22 years. After the company closed its doors, he worked for the Town of Pecos City and later at Pecos Headstart, where he retired. Of all his jobs, his family could easily say that Joseluis loved working at Pecos Headstart the most because he loved children.

All work and no play was not a part of Joseluis’s philosophy. He enjoyed taking his family on camping and fishing trips, on country cruises, and to theme parks. For many years, he was a successful coach for the Pecos Little League team, the Missions. When he retired from coaching, he spent many summer days watching the National Little League teams play on television. Beyond baseball, Joseluis proudly attended his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting and academic events, cheering them on every step of the way.

Above all, Joseluis’s greatest joy was his family. His presence, laughter, and guidance will be deeply missed at every future gathering. Known as the life of the party and a true jokester, he brought light and joy to everyone around him.

Joseluis is preceded in death by his parents and his older brothers, Armando Rodriguez and Elias (Leo) Rodriguez Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife, Estella Rodriguez; his children, Leticia Juarez (Carlos), Joseluis Rodriguez Jr. (Kimberly), Fernando Rodriguez, and Analisa Orona (Gilbert); and his cherished grandchildren, John Doctor (aka Pbear), Julie Doctor, Emily Natividad, Lucinda Orona, Ryan Orona, Pennylane Rodriguez, and Jude Rodriguez. He is also survived by his sister, Erlinda Chapman, and his brother, Mario Rodriguez, his sister-in-law, Rosa DeLaRosa, his brother-in-law, Ricky (Becky) Natividad, and many of his beloved nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 4th, at 10 a.m. at Pecos Funeral Home, followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 5th, at 10 a.m. at Santa Rosa Church. A small reception will occur after the funeral services.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the Home Hospice nurses for the love and care they provided to Joseluis. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to all who offered condolences, brought food, and provided comfort during this difficult time.
