Joe O. Peña, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on August 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on December 13, 1958, in Pecos, Texas, he was the eldest son of Raymundo and Carmen Peña.

A devoted Catholic, Joe married the love of his life, Guadalupe “Lupita” Peña, in 1980. Together, they built a life rooted in faith and family, starting their own family shortly after marriage. Joe was a loving and dedicated father to five children: Gregorio (Stephanie), Enrique (Diana), Sarah, Jose (Heather), and Lillianna Peña. He is also survived by two brothers and several beloved grandchildren.

Joe was the oldest of four brothers—Raymundo, Carlos, and Angel Peña—and naturally took on the role of caretaker and leader, a role he carried with grace throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lupita; his parents, Raymundo and Carmen Peña; and his brother, Carlos Peña.

Joe worked as an electrician for most of his career, retiring five years ago. He was incredibly handy—there wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. Whether it was a household repair or a complex problem, Joe always found a solution with quiet confidence.

He lived most of his life in Pecos, Texas, where he raised his family and built a home filled with love, strength, and faith.

Joe was also an avid reader and passionate history enthusiast who never stopped learning. His curiosity and love of knowledge were matched only by his devotion to his family.

Joe’s legacy is one of quiet strength, wisdom, resourcefulness, and unwavering love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation for Joe will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at 10:00 am at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
