Jerri Diaz Ornelas

Jerri Diaz Ornelas passed from this life into eternal rest on September 13, 2025, in Pecos, Texas. Born on March 8, 1969, Jerri was a light in the lives of many and will be fondly remembered as a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and friend.

A proud graduate of Pecos High School, Jerri dedicated her life to the love and care of her son, Tyler Reece Lopez, who was her greatest joy and pride. Her nurturing spirit shone brightly in all her relationships; she took exceptional care of her parents, Dulces “Candy” and Freddy “Lico” Ornelas, and there was not a moment when her nephews, Kaleb and Dominic Ornelas, were not wrapped in her deep affection.

Jerri cherished her brother, Freddy, standing by him as both a sibling and protector. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, as she was a devoted member of the UPC Pentecostals of Pecos, nurturing her relationship with God with unwavering dedication.

Though she is preceded in death by her beloved grandmothers, Minga Rayos and Maria Renteria Diaz, and her grandfathers, Juan Diaz, Tony Rayos Sr. and Francisco Ornelas Sr., her legacy will forever live on through her family and loved ones.

Jerri leaves behind the endless love of her son, her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Freddy and Veronica Ornelas, and her adored nephews, who will always carry her spirit in their hearts.

Visitation to honor Jerri will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Mike Lucero. Memorial services are to be announced at a later date.
