Jackie Paschal

Jackie Colleen Carr Paschal, 88, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on January 28, 2015 at her home near Pecos. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Pecos Funeral Home on February 7, 2015, from 1-3 p.m.

Jackie Colleen was born in Fabens, Texas to Robert J. Carr and Erin Hall Carr on November 3, 1926. She was the youngest of their eleven children. Jackie Colleen grew up on the Carr family farm/ranch along the banks of the Rio Grande River at Pilarez, Texas until she went to stay with her sister in El Paso to attend High School. She married Walter Byron "Red" Paschal on February 4, 1945 in Van Horn, Texas.

In addition to raising a family and making a home on numerous ranches, Jackie Colleen worked as a childcare provider, deputy sheriff in Loving County, goat rancher, and deer camp cook. She was the family genealogist, a proficient seamstress (western shirts, embroidery, quilts), an active member of the Baptist church, and an avid gardener who established trees and flowers at each of her homes.

Jackie Colleen is preceded in death by her husband, Red Paschal, and son, Douglas "Bud" O'Neil Paschal; daughter-in-law Kathryn Fay Youngblood Paschal; great-granddaughter Hali Marie Paschal; her parents, R.J. & Erin Carr, and her siblings, Lillian Carr Raney Prout, Mattie Laura Carr Brooks Magathan, Marguerite Carr Denman, Hazel Carr McCain Nichols Rice, Robert "Bob" Jefferson Carr, Jr., Helen Carr Emery, Lula May Carr Wescott, William "Bill" James Carr, Erin Emma "Patty" Carr Gibson, and Edward "Eddie" Carroll Carr.

Jackie Colleen is survived by her son Byron "Shot" Paschal and wife Janey; her daughter Margaret Paschal Ryan and husband Phil; and her daughter Patricia Paschal Figures and husband Jerry. She had eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
