Herminia Casillas

April 26, 1933 — December 9, 2014

Herminia Minnie Casillas
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16
Herminia Minnie Casillas was born on April 26, 1933 in Pecos, TX and was 81 years old. Herminia Casillas was a true servant of God and an honorable prayer warrior. She spent her entire life building the Kingdom of Jesus Christ on earth as she touched countless lives in her community, nationally, and internationally by inspiring hope in others through the message of salvation through Jesus Christ. Herminia Casillas had a love and passion for her Lord and Savior and for people, specifically helping, praying, and encouraging people in need. Moreover, she was in full time ministry where she consistently visited the local jails, nursing homes, hospitals and made personal home visits to pray for people. In addition, she prayed relentlessly for our local community and nation. She always encouraged others to visit her home or call her telephone if ever a need were to arise, no matter the time of day or night. She would receive phone calls from all around the United States from people she had met throughout her life and who she had impacted through prayer and the message of Jesus Christ.
Herminia Casillas was an active member of Abundant Life Church where on any given day you could find her greeting strangers and welcoming everyone to the church with open arms. She loved the church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and as a greeter. Her life was about exemplifying the love of Christ by serving others. Herminia Casillas never met a stranger and always offered her love through words of encouragement and prayer. As a single mother, she faithfully served her family and community as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend in Christ.
In 1986 Herminia Casillas married her beloved Jesus Chuy Casillas in Pecos, TX. She was preceeded in death by her late husband and her parents Filomeno and Petra Herrera, one brother Nando Herrera, and step son Jesus Casillas Jr. She is survived by her brother Joe B Herrera of San Antonio, TX, Emma Briones of Phoenix, Arizona, Guadalupe Herrera of Fort Worth, TX, and Linda Rothman of San Antonio, TX. Herminia Casillas will be truly missed but her family is comforted by the fact that she is dancing on the streets of gold with her Savior Jesus Christ. The legacy that she left behind will be carried forth by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and generations to come. As a final good bye she would have loved to offer one last request that if you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior then repeat this prayer and mean it with all your heart:
Lord Jesus Christ, I come to your throne of Grace and I ask you for forgiveness of all of my sins. I know that you died on the Cross for me and that you are the one and only son of God. I accept your free gift of salvation today and I invite you Lord to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life now and forever. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer God promises that we will all reunite with Herminia Casillas and our loved ones in Heaven one day. Always remember that Jesus loves you more than you know.
