Helen Paige Miller, 84, of Pecos, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Pecos.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Pecos Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen Cemetery.

Helen was also known as “Red” by those who knew her best. Later, she was known as the “Lunch Lady”. She worked in the school cafeterias for over 30 years and became the Food Service Director several years before her retirement. Her grandchildren and great-grandsons called her “Granny”. They were the highlight of her life. She was always their biggest cheerleader in everything they did. Baking for friends and family became a hobby and a way for her to show her love and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Sampy Miller; daughter, Tammy Sullivan; sister, Martha Paige; and cousin, John Carpenter.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Jamie (Tim) Windham and Nikki (Miguel) Matta; sister, Laura Teal; grandchildren Tatum (Errett) Edmiston, Jared (Payton) Windham, Kaylee Matta, and Kelsie Matta; great-grandchildren Jackson and Kayce Edmiston; nieces, Mary Smith and Gloria (Philip) Stroup; nephew David Teal; and cousin Randy Marsh.

Pallbearers will be Jared Windham, Errett Edmiston, Dante Griner, Caleb Windham, Chad Windham, Keith Windham.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The West of the Pecos Museum.
