Halley Walker Brookshire, age 84, of Pecos, passed away on Wednesday August 6, 2026, at his home in Pecos, TX.

Visitation will be at 5PM to 8PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Pecos Funeral home at 607 W 3rd St., Pecos, TX 79772.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2026, at the Pecos Church of Christ located at 1321 W 4th St., Pecos, TX 79772 with Jorge Perez of the Pecos Church of Christ officiating, accompanied by song leader Todd Davis. Burial will follow at Mt. Evergreen cemetery located at 63 Co Rd 203, Pecos, TX 79772. Arrangements are provided by Pecos Funeral Home.

Halley was born in Ballinger, TX to Jack and Ola Brookshire on January 25, 1942. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1960. He married Virgina (Ginger) Lunday, on July 1, 1961. He worked in the electrical field for 66 years holding a Masters Electrical License and owned his own businesses. He was involved in the Antique Automobile Club of America for almost 50 years as well as car associations for Buick, Pontiac and Ford Model A clubs. He was an avid collector of original antique and classic cars – his pride and joy was his 58 Buick. He was a United Way Director, in the Lions Club, and was a Director for the Boy Scouts of America – Buffalo Trails Council.

Halley was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Virginia (Ginger) Lunday Brookshire, his father Jack Brookshire, his mother Ola Allen Brookshire, his sister Jean Redman, and brothers Weldon Brookshire and Fred Brookshire.

Halley is survived by his son Scott Brookshire and his wife Sherry Medley Brookshire of Vancouver, WA, his daughter Michelle Brookshire Martinez and her husband Raymundo Martinez of Pecos TX, sister Joyce Snapp of Brady, TX, brother Alton and wife Joyce Brookshire of Odessa, TX, sister Betty and husband Dale Callen of Midland, TX, grandson Brandon Martinez of Dayton, OH, and great granddaughters Gabriella (Gabby) Martinez, Riley and Mia Jenkins and their mother Kristy Zak, and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jack Brookshire, Roy Lane Medley, James Marques, Randy Taylor, Albert Juarez, and Shawn Ray. Honorary pallbearers are Alton Brookshire, Dale Callen, Dean Ayers and Sheriff Art Granado.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Serrano and staff, Reeves Regional Health Hospital, Reeves Regional Home Health and Hospice doctors, nurses and aides. Many thanks to Krystal Myers, Armando Guzman and Nola Conteras for his home health care services. The family also want to thank all the support of his friends at Pecos Church of Christ, Pecos Valley Country Club, the many employees of Pecos Electric and BlueWorks Solutions, with a special recognition for Jack and Tylene Brookshire, James Marquez, Robert Saucedo, Albert Juarez, Shawn and Cassie Ray, Randy and Clay Taylor.
