Francisco Orona

Francisco "Frankie" Lorenzo Orona, 59, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in Carlsbad.

Frankie was born on August 6, 1966, in Pecos, Texas, to Frank M. Orona and Susie Orona. He graduated from Pecos High School in 1986. Frankie worked as a correctional officer at Reeves County Detention Center and at Lea County Correctional Facility. He was a devoted Catholic.

Frankie was preceded in death by his father, Frank M. Orona, and his grandparents, Gilbert and Hermelinda Juarez.

He is survived by his mother, Susie Orona; his sister, Wanda Mora, and her husband, Peter Mora; his brother, Roger Orona, and his wife, Brenda Orona; his niece, Amanda Mora; his nephew, Matthew P. Mora and family; his niece, Elyssa Garcia and family; and his niece, Alexandria Orona.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Pecos Funeral Home.
