Erlinda G. Martinez

Erlinda G. Martinez, 78, of Barstow, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in Midland,Tx. She was born on September 20, 1947, in Pecos,Texas to her loving parents 

Julian G Gomez and Refugia Pena Gomez.Linda was proceeded in death by her beloved husband, Moises B Martinez Sr; her parents Julian and Refugia Gomez; and her brothers Lico Gomez I and Lico Gomez II

She is survived by her four devoted sons: Moises Martinez Jr. (Alexis), Larry Martinez (Debra), Hilbert Martinez (Christy ), Jeffrey Martinez (Valerie). She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, and 23 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda is also survived by her sisters, Olga Valdez and her husband Tomas Valdez. Irma Barrera and husband Esteban Barrera; bother Richard Gomez and wife Mireya Gomez.

Linda dedicated 24 years of service to the Pecos- Barstow- Toyah Independent School district as a life skills aide, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and patience. A devout Catholic; she was a faithful member of her church community in Barstow, Texas. She was also a part of the church choir. Her faith guided everything she did and her kindness, generosity , and unwavering devotion to God and family made an impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Linda will be remembered for her love for Starbucks coffee and her daily phone conversations with her boys. She enjoyed keeping up with her loved ones on Facebook where she spent countless hours sharing memories and cheering on her grandchildren. She loved watching them grow, especially following their sports and celebrating every win, big or small.Her favorite saying “ Stand Tall” reflected the way she lived her own life; with strength pride and unwavering love for her beautiful family. Her kindness and encouragement will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of her loved ones.

Visitaition for Linda will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Pecos Funeral Home

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow Texas at 10:00 am, Officiated by Father Bala from St. Stephens Catholic Church of Midland Texas. 

Burial will follow the Mass at Barstow Cemetery in Barstow, Texas.

Pallbearers for Linda will be ; Tommy Valdez, Randy Valdez, Chris Gomez, Rene Gomez, Jace Martinez and Kasen Martinez
