Obituary

Elisa Mendosa, 88, of Pecos, Texas passed away on August 30, 2026, in Pecos, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Pecos Funeral Home with Rosary to be held at 7:00 PM. Mass will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church in Pecos, Texas with burial to follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

Elisa C. Mendosa was born to Maria Cardenas and Eduardo Carrasco on September 3, 1937. She went to school in Barstow and married the love of her life Santana Mendosa on December 12, 1959, in Pecos, Texas. Elisa lived as a homemaker raising her children and taking care of the home. She was involved in De Colores, Las Guadalupana and Eucharistic Minister. Elisa was a dedicated Catholic and inspired many parishioners to believe and trust in the Lord. She worked for the fiesta of the 16th of September since 1978. She would volunteer countless hours for the church such as cleaning the church and assisting with many church fundraisers. Elisa was loved by man for famous gorditas and a great believer in Jesus.

Elisa is preceded in death by her loving husband Santana Mendosa, Father Edward Carrasco, Mother Amria Cardenas, and brothers Eduardo Carrasco, Charlie Carrasco.

Elisa is survived by her children Margie and Johnny Fuentes, RC Mendoza, Susie Mendoza and Gustabo Salgado, Edward and Abigail Mendoza, brothers Albert Carrasco, Tom Montalvo, sisters Juanita Martinez, Maria Goodwin, Vera Montalvo, along with grandchildren Michelle Arturo, and Erica Sanez, Ryan and Rina, Jalisa Mendoza, Joseph Fuentes, Timothy Valenzuela, Jeremiah Mendoza, Victoria Mendoza, along with 19 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-Great Grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Isiah and Ethan Salazar, Jeremiah Mendoza, Timothy Valenzuela, Nathaniel and Joseph Fuentes, Arturo Sanez.

The family of Elisa wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Home Health, MCH, Reeves Regional, American Home Health Hospice and Santa Rosa Catholic Church along with the Pecos Police Department.
