Demecio Vejil IV

Demecio Vejil IV, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away June 24, 2024 in Pecos, TX at the young age of 24. Born on October 8, 1999, in San Antonio, TX, he will always be the cherished son of Anna L. Gongora, mother, Demecio Vejil III, father, and Jason Fritz, stepfather and the loving brother to Vanessa Buckler, Amanda Vejil, and Mason Fritz.

 Demecio was a beacon of kindness with a gentle soul and a heart of gold to all who knew him. He had an athletic spirit for football, baseball and skateboarding. He also shared a passion for music and anything that had to do with friends and family. For Demecio, family was everything. This extended through his adulthood while working in the oil field and forming strong friendships with the people he worked with. Demecio was a hard worker and had a sense of responsibility and dedication to his work. He aspired to do more and learn things not only to better himself but to also help others. He will always be remembered for his smile and willingness to go the extra mile for the people he loved. He had a love for life and God.

 Demecio is proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents David and Gilda Vejil. Demecio is survived by his father Demecio Vejil III, his mother Anna L. Gongora, stepfather Jason Fritz, sisters Vanessa Buckler and Amanda Vejil, brother Mason Fritz, maternal grandmother Juanita Gongora, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Demecio’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. As we bid farewell to this remarkable young man, let us carry forward the light he brought into our lives.

The rosary will be held on Thursday, June 27 at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home at 7PM 116W 4th St. Pecos, TX 79772. 

Church service will be held Friday, June 28 at Saint Catherine of Siena at 2PM 1201S Plum St. Pecos, TX 79772.
