David O Palomino 84, of Barstow passed away Friday November 1, 2019 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born November 27, 1934 to Maximo Palomino and Petrolina Olivas in Barstow, Texas. He married Soledad Lopez July 5, 1975 in Pecos, Tx. He was a catholic and worked for Delaware Basin Aggregates for 27 years as a dragline operator and retired from Porter and Son as a dragline operator.
David enjoyed very much to see western movies and wrestling matches especially Lucha Libre. He enjoyed bar-b-queuing for his children and grandchildren, he liked tinkering with things around the house, but what he most enjoyed was upkeeping his lawn. He loved being outside until his health starting to decline and caused him to stay more inside the house. Occasionally, he would take a small shot of Jose Cuervo to as he would say “To warm up the body”.
David is preceded in death by his parents, wife Soledad “Chole” Palomino, daughter Mary Palomino, sons David Jr, Mike and Alfred Palomino and sister Manuela Nelson.
Mr. Palomino is survived by daughter Becky Silvas and husband Jesse “Keto’ Silvas of Pecos, Tx. sons Ruben Palomino and wife Sandra of Kyle, Tx. Robert Abila of Richmond, Tx. Albert “Beto” Palomino of Bartsow, Tx. Joe Lopez and Raul “Pony” Palomino both of Pecos, Tx.
Mr. Palomino also leaves to cherish his memories 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation is set for Wednesday November 6, 2019 9am-9pm with a rosary at 7:30pm at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass is set for 10am Thursday November 7, 2019 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Barstow, Tx.
Cremation will follow.
