David A. McGinty

March 12, 1955 — March 26, 2026

Pecos, Texas

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sudden passing of our dad, David Ashley McGinty on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

He was a funny guy who loved his family deeply and was always ready with a classic joke-whether we wanted to hear it or not. He proudly served 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that reflected his strength, dedication, and sense of duty.

He especially loved his two daughters, April (Mike) Tarbutton and Nicole (Todd) Taft. One of his greatest honors was being called Pepa to his seven grandkids: Jordan (Tabbie), Austin (Shelbie), Aaron, Ashton (Ryan), Jerred, and Dylan (Kari), and his six great-grandkids: Xander, Christian, Nora, Jami, Hendrix, River-and his beloved grand puppies.

He is also survived by his sisters, Cassandra and Debra, along with many nieces and a nephews.

He brought laughter and light into our lives in a way that only he could, and we will forever miss his humor, his presence, and the countless memories we shared.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harry F. McGinty; step-mom, Carol McGinty; mother, Myra Brown; and great-grandson, Xander Tarbutton.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Our family will be gathering privately to honor and remember him.

In true dad fashion, we know he'd tell us not to be too sad... and probably follow it up with a joke that made us roll our eyes.

Thank you for all the love, support, and kindness during this difficult time.
