Claude L. C.L. Elkins III, 66, of Troy, Texas, passed away on January 21, 2014 in Temple, Texas.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the Fairview Cemetery in Pecos, Texas. with Virgil Webb officiating. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home in Pecos, Texas.

C.L. was born in Pecos, Texas to Lyndull Baygent Elkins and Claude Elkins II on June 4, 1947. He graduated from Pecos High School in 1967 and married Patsy Pat Borcherding on June 29, 1973, in Pecos, Texas. The two celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June of 2013. C.L. was a practicing Master Electrician and certified HVAC technician who taught classes at Odessa College for 3 years preparing individuals to work in the electrical area. He worked as a Master Electrician serving the citizens of Reeves County through his business, Elkins Electric, for 30 years, followed by serving as Master Electrician for the Texas Juvenile Justice Department for almost 10 years. He was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. C.L. is preceded in death by his parents, Lyndull and Claude Elkins of Pecos.

C.L. enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with family. He had a passion for and vast knowledge of firearms. Recently he was very interested in health and living a more active lifestyle while encouraging family members to join him.

C.L. Elkins is survived by his wife Pat Elkins of Troy, Texas Jana Elkins Holubec, her husband Cole of Melvin, Texas, Lyndall Elkins Ling, her husband Jeff of Salado, Texas, and David Elkins, his wife Cara of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Nathan King, wife Dana, of Lewisville grandchildren Kenze and Klaire Holubec of Melvin, Jeffrey, Catherine, Jacob, Emily, Katelyn Ling of Salado Conner and Aiden King of Lewisville.

Honorary pallbearers are David Elkins, Nathan King, Jeff Ling, Cole Holubec, Kenze Holubec, Jeffrey Ling, Jacob Ling, Conner King, and Aiden King.

The family of C.L. Elkins wishes to extend our sincere thanks to
all who have offered up prayers on behalf of our family.
