Clara Jean "Jeanne" Brookshire

Pecos, Texas

Clara Jean “Jeanne” (Landtroop) Brookshire left this life to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday March 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was the oldest child born to Wendell Coyt and Imogene (McDougle) Landtroop. She was born in Post, Texas and attended school in Post, Texas. After receiving her GED, she attended Odessa Collège. On May 19, 1957, she married the love of her life Jack Weldon Brookshire. Together they had three children. Daughter Deborah Jean born in 1958, son Jack Wendell born in 1959 and daughter Eddie Jo born in 1964. They moved to Pecos, Texas in 1959. Jeanne worked for several years as a supervisor for the Pecos Garment Factory.

She was proceeded in death by her father Wendell Coyt Landtroop Sr. her mother Imogene Landtroop, her husband of 66 years Jack Weldon Brookshire her daughter Deborah Jean Bertelson and her daughter Eddie Jo Stokes.

She is survived by her son Jack Brookshire and wife Tylene Brookshire of Pecos, 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her hobbies included traveling where she traveled to all fifty states in the United State, she also traveled to Mexico and Canada. She also enjoyed going on tours in the old classic cars and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed doing carpentry work, it was nothing to come home and find that she installed a new front door or replaced a window in the front of the house. She also loved to sew and provided several girls over the years with dresses and costumes for the Pecos Golden Girl Pageant.

She was an EMT and worked for the Pecos Ambulance Service Transfer Division for 10 years. In 1990 she went to the jail academy and went to work in the medical department of the Reeves County Detention Center where she worked her way up to Medical Director. She retired from the Reeves County Detention Center and continued to work in the family business B&B Wrecker Service. She will be forever missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends Wednesday March 27, 2024, 6:00 PM to 8:00 Pm at the Pecos Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 AM at the West Park Baptist Church in Pecos, Texas located at 7th and Eddy St. with Bro. Rey Carreon officiating. Graveside service will be held Thursday afternoon at 4:30 PM in Ballinger, Texas at the Evergreen Cemetery.
