Carmen was born on July 16, 1953, in Buenos Aires, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Teodora Acosta Ramirez and Librado Ramirez. She married the love of her life, Pablo G. Montoya Jr., on May 7, 1971, in Pecos, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of family.
Carmen's greatest joy came from caring for her family, especially through her cooking. She loved nothing more than preparing delicious meals and sharing them with those she loved. Her kitchen was always a place of comfort and togetherness, where she poured her heart into every dish. Whether it was a special holiday dinner or a simple meal to brighten someone's day, Carmen’s food was a reflection of her nurturing spirit.
In addition to her love for cooking, Carmen was a dedicated member of her women's group and served as an Elder at Word of Hope Church, where she touched many lives with her kindness, faith, and unwavering devotion.
She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Pablo Montoya III; her brother, Andres Ramirez; her parents, Teodora Acosta Ramirez and Librado Ramirez; and her great-grandchildren, Zryan Jay Madrid and Jeremy James Madrid Jr.
Carmen is survived by her daughters, Lourdez Lujan (Ernesto Lujan) and Rebeca Navarette (Greg Navarette III); her brother, Martin Ramirez; her sisters, Maria Elena Mendoza (Roberto Mendoza) and Maria de Jesus Martinez; her grandchildren, Airam Madrid (Jeremy Madrid), Greg Navarette IV, Max Navarette, and Carmen Gabriela Montoya; and her great-grandchildren, Zari Azalyn Madrid and Amelia Esperanza Madrid.
Pallbearers will be Alvaro Estrello, Carlos Estrello, Ernesto Lujan, Greg Navarette IV, Jeremy Madrid and Max Navarette.
The family of Carmen Montoya would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Word of Hope Church and Pecos Funeral Home for their kindness, support, and compassion during this difficult time.
