Blasa Lara

Blasa Lara, 88, passed away on October 28, 2020. She was born on November 3, 1931, in Stanton, Texas to Antonio and Florencia (Rayos) Lara.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Antonio & Florencia Lara, son; Danny L Ortega, brothers; Mercy Lara, Jesus Lara & Manuel Lara and sister; Alice Carrasco.

She is survived by her son; Jesse "Keto" (Becky) Silvas, daughters; Cecilia (Ray) Varela, Melissa Lara, sisters; Mary (Nena) Gutierrez, Ramona (Pete) Ybarra, Mary (Joe) Olgin, brother; Antonio (Tony) Lara Jr., 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Blasa loved to eat Danny’s BBQ, go dancing, have social gatherings, making blankets, sewing, hanging out with the grandchildren, and loved her Dallas Cowboys. Blasa loved to cook and bake for her family as well. Blasa was the kind of person who was always willing to help anyone in need.

Visitation will be Monday, November 2, 2020, from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 2:00 P.M. all at Pecos Funeral Home, 607 W. 3rd Street, Pecos, Texas 79772. Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at Greenwood Cemetery.

Due to the COVID19 Pandemic Outbreak, all services are limited to the immediate family up to 40 persons. Friends are able to attend the graveside services. At the funeral home and the cemetery social distancing and masks are required.
