Billie Akins

Billie Joe Akins 87, of Quanah Texas and formerly of Pecos Texas passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 in Quanah.

Visitation will be on Sunday December 28, 2014 at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on Monday December 29, 2014 at the Pecos Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery.

Billie was born on July 14, 1927 in Brady, Texas to Lester Thomas and Rosa Mae Murphy Akins. Billie was a house mover. He was good man and good father and enjoyed a good laugh.

Billie is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Rosa brother Freddie Thomas Akins and one great grandson Michael James Proft. Mr. Akins is survived by his brother Ray Akins of Franklin TX. sisters Loretta Smith of Pineville AK, Georgia Tuttle of Calvert, TX. Billie is also survived by the mother of his children Mary Elizabeth Akins his two daughters Laverne Hegwood, of Quanah TX., Betty Jo Teague of Alpine TX. two sons Thomas James Akins of Pecos TX., Billy Robin Akins of Farmerville LA., 16 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
