Alicia Herrera, 91, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2026. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was devoted to her family, her faith, and caring for others.
Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, Tomas and Aurora Herrera; her sons, Guadalupe Aragon and Osbaldo Aragon; her daughters, Yolanda Aragon and Olga Alicia Jacobs; her grandson Salvador Nichols; her brothers, Tomas and Filimon Herrera; and her sister, Ofelia Ramirez.
She is survived by her daughter, Aurora Aragon; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Bertha Orona, Rosenda Hinojos, and Cruz Villareal; her brother, Gilbert Herrera; and many other loving family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Alicia dedicated many years of her life to working at Reeves County Hospital, where she gave her time and care to others.
Family was at the heart of Alicia's life. She found great joy in feeding and caring for her loved ones and took great pride in making sure her family was always well cared for. She also enjoyed tending to her yard, working crossword puzzles, and, of course, drinking her coffee and offering a cup to everyone who came through her door. Her love was often expressed through the simple things she did every day for the people around her.
Alicia's Catholic faith was a deeply treasured and enduring part of her life. She was a devout Catholic who placed her faith and trust in God and carried her beliefs with her throughout her many years. Her faith provided her with strength, comfort, and guidance through both her joyful and difficult times. She found peace in prayer and remained devoted to the Catholic Church and the traditions that were so meaningful to her.
Her family will remember her for her strength, her loving heart, her devotion to her family, and the many ways she showed her love. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
