Obituary

Adrian Nieto Sanchez, 49, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, in Odessa, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10am to 9:00pm on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Pecos Funeral Home with Rosary to be held at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Santa Rosa De Lima Catholic Church at 10:00am with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pecos, Texas.

Adrian was born in Pecos, Texas to Hector Sr. and Ana Sanchez on December 3, 1976. He went to school at Pecos High where he met his high school sweetheart Elvia Tarango. They married on September 4, 1999, in Pecos, Texas.

He worked for R1 and R2 Correctional facility and Transportation for many years. Adrian was involved in coaching Peewee football when his sons were young. He worked as a safety coordinator for Bird Black & Veatch for 13 years.

Adrian is preceded in death by his father Hector Reyes Sanchez Sr., his grandparents Salomon and Mercedes “Cheche” Sanchez and Perfecto and Guillerma ”mema” Nieto.

Adrian is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Elvia T. Sanchez, his son’s Sebastian and Nathan Sanchez, his one and only daughter Mercedes Sanchez, John Paul Montaño wife Yari Venegas. Granddaughter Evangeline Montaño. His mother Ana Nieto Ortiz (Robert Ortiz), his brother Hector Sanchez Jr. (Gloria), his sister Sonia Rejino (Edward), In-law’s Ernesto and Socorro Tarango, Eloy (Rocky) Tarango, Eladio (Yesenia) Tarango, along with many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Sebastian Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez, John Paul Montaño, Elijah Rejino, Isaiah Rejino, Victor Sanchez, Alfredo Garcia, Arturo Morales.

Adrian’s favorite hobby was fishing with loved ones. He enjoyed barbecuing and smoking briskets for everyone; after all, he was the cook of the family He had a way of filling every room with laughter, always joking, always smiling and always lifting the mood of everyone around him. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

The family of Adrian wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Medical Center Hospital and Continued Care Hospital in Odessa, Texas.

There will be a gathering held after the funeral at the Barstow Community Center, 100 Concho St., in Barstow, Texas
