Maria Socorro Q. Macias, 91, of Pecos, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at her residence.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 16, 2019 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Pecos Funeral Home Chapel.
Rosary will be at 7:30pm on Wednesday July 17, 2019 at Pecos Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday July 18, 2019 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pecos.
Socorro was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico to Francisco and Ventura Quinones on Nov. 12, 1927. She married Manuel L Macias, owner of Manuel’s Paint and Body Shop, on September 30th, 1944 in Monterrey, NL, Mexico. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by six daughters, Dolores Valencia (Ricardo), Susana Chabarria (Domingo), Mary Pena (Manuel), Dina Marmolejo (Jose’), Laura Natividad (Agustin) and Sylvia Medrano (Gerardo); four sons, Jose Macias (Lupe), Jamie Macias (Criselda+), Javier Macias(Terry) and Ernest Natividad (Florence), 32 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren, 2 on the way; and 8 great-great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.
Socorro had a heart of gold and always had a hug and a kiss for anyone that crossed her path. She shared her love with everyone and always had food for them. She was a devoted Catholic and sent blessing with everyone that walked out of her door. Socorro will be remembered by her big earrings and her love for dancing. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends but is now reunited with the love of her life. No one will ever make beans and bunuelos like her. Proceeded in death by her parents, loving husband Manuel L. Macias, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
