Gladys (Douglas) Gorman, 78 of Pecos, TX passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 in Pecos, TX.
Gladys was born in Kerrville, TN to Booker T and Eula Mae (Hughes) Douglas on July 1, 1940. She went to school at Roosevelt H.S. in Gary, IN. She was married to Leidra Anderson (Gary, IN) and widow of Lee Gorman, Jr. (Ft Wayne, IN)
She never met a stranger, loved people, learning and teaching. But most of all she was our beloved Mother, nurturer with a spunky attitude and great sense of humor. As a self-employed entrepreneur she spent 50 years working in Fort Wayne, IN as a Housekeeper, Dressmaker/Tailor, master Crafter/Diy-er, Caterer, Baker, Restaurant owner, Motivational Speaker and Storyteller before retiring to Pecos TX.
Gladys is preceded in death by parents Booker T. Douglas, Eula Mae (Hughes) Douglas; children Pamela Loraine Anderson, Deitrick Lynn Anderson; brothers Booker T Douglas, Jr., Frederick Douglas; sisters Eloise Douglas, Mildred (Douglas) Baker, Carrie Mae (Douglas) Goins and husband Lee Gorman, Jr.
Gladys is survived by children Letha R. Anderson, Dr. Deitrick L. Gorman (Kasali Sikuyayenga), Katrina D. Gorman, Lee Gorman III (Lola), Janice Gorman, Ellen Gorman, Nura (Gorman) Washington, Darrell Gorman, David Gorman; Brother Booker T. Douglas (Gary, IN), Sisters Lillie Blanch (Douglas) Calhoun (Gary, IN), Juanita Douglas (Chicago, IL); along with a hosts of Nephews, Nieces, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.
In lieu of funeral or memorial services the Family asks on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10am(est)/9am (cst) take this time to say a little prayer and or think of her as she continues on her spiritual journey.
